Nohea's News!

Trillie had her puppies on April 14, 2009. She has 6 girls and 1 boy, all solid black. The sire is Ch. Chestnut's Selling the Drama, NA, NAJ, RE.

Jack won his first major at Packerland Kennel Club show at the end of January 2009.

In January, Frida earned the 3rd leg of her RA title, and Kelty earned her first RN leg at American Spaniel Club.

On October 18, 2008 Frida earned her last MH leg, making her the 8th Champion/MH in the history of the breed (her sire Banner was the 6th one). Little Kelty, Frida's daughter, earned her first SH leg with great style, at age 13 months! And Brook, who I have had the pleasure to compete with this fall, earned his 2nd MH leg. Brook goes home to his family now, but will come back in the spring to finish his MH title, and probably compete in a few more field trials.

Brook took 4th place in the Amateur field trial at the Fox Valley field trials on October 6th. This is his first Amateur placement. Kelty, in her first regular stake ever, was called back to the 3rd series and worked her heart out, but I picked her up when it was clear she was really exhausted. I couldn't be prouder of her! She also won a first and a second in Puppy stakes that weekend.

Frida won a 2nd place in the Amateur field trial in Maine on September 6, 2008, under judges Tom Ness and Trish Jackson. This is a really big deal as the last time a bench champion EC placed in a field trial was 1947, and apparently the competition was a lot less back then. Trish said to me "She didn't put a foot down wrong"!

Also in September of 2008, puppies Cypress, Mona, Jack and Hunter all picked up points at shows. Unfortunately there were no majors offered, so we'll be waiting until after the first of the year to try and find majors for these young ones.
